Furthermore, the teenager can be pregnant and choose to give birth to a baby without her parents’ consent. However, once the baby is born, the parents of the teenager are now responsible for that baby because the teenage mother is underage and is not considered a legal adult who does not have the rights, responsibilities or authorities as an adult. The parents cannot force their teenager to take birth control as a preventative measure either.
