Steroids and Baseball: One Major League Problem


In many parts of the world today, sports competitions involve the fierce quest to be the best. Today athletes will do anything to win and that includes cheat. Baseball players are taking steroids to gain an advantage over the competition. It is no secret that Major League Baseball is facing a steroid crisis. What more can one expect from a sport that welcomes steroids. Major League Baseball has made no efforts to ban steroids; however, with many of the sports biggest stars caught up in steroid scandals, efforts are being made to punish those that test positive. With the United States Congress getting involved in the situation, Major League Baseball has since stepped up its efforts to get the situation under control. It is believed that over three million athletes use steroids or have used some sort of illegal performance-enhancing supplement. Many claim that they unknowingly took steroids, mistaking them for some other medication. What ever the situation may be, the public is not aware of the dangers that steroids present. Many of baseball¡¦s biggest stars are caught in a steroid scandal, but how did they get caught in the mess? Why do people use steroids? It appears that Major League Baseball is taking the necessary steps to ban steroids, but should they? What stars are caught in the steroid scandal and who will be the first to suffer? Major League Baseball has realized that they have a problem and they are doing everything possible to put an end to the steroid scandal.
What are steroids? Steroids are natural substances. Steroids are hormones that can be taken orally or injected into the body.
