Why Michael is a leader
- When Michael was growing up he played Baseball, Football and Basketball but his true love was baseball. After many night of playing with his older and taller brother Michael fell in love with the game of basketball and dreamed of playing professional ball one day. However while attending Emsley A. Laney High in North Carolina Jordan tried out for the Varsity basketball team and was cut from the team. Instead of giving up Jordan continued to sharpen his skills and tried out again for the team the following year. Between that time Jordan hit his growth spurt and grew from 5`11 to 6`3, which indeed helped him out. However the determination that Michael Jordan displayed but not getting discouraged and by continuing to work on his skills eventually lead to his success on the court and in life. If Jordan were to give up on basketball after being cut from the team he would have never got the chance to achieve his dream of playing pro ball and would have never changed the game of basketball like he did. So Jordan has always express to never give up on you dreams, that is why Michael Jordan in a leader and a role model for young kids today.
By the time Jordan was a senior in high school he was invited to a top prospects camp in Pittsburgh where he competed with the best high school basketball players in the country. Jordan later accepted a scholarship to the best basketball school in the country North Carolina where as a junior he hit the game winning shot in the 1984 NCAA championship.
