How to Play Nine Ball
Billiards is a great game of skill, talent, and thought. Billiards is a very respectable sport to play. There are many different types of games that can be played like eight ball, nine ball, fourteen continuous, and snooker. I am going to tell you the rules and what you need to know so you can play nine ball.
A few of the things that you are going to need are a regulation size pool table which is eight feet by three and a half feet. You are also going to need a pool stick, pool balls, a rack and chalk
To first learn how to play nine ball you have to learn the rules. If you don’t know the rules it will be near impossible to play the game right. Here are the rules that you will need to know to be a fair nine ball player. You have nine object balls numbered one through nine plus the cue ball. On each shot, the first ball that the cue ball hits should be the lowest numbered ball on the table, but that ball does not have to be pocketed it can hit another ball in and still be called as a legal shot. The game will continue until missing, committing a foul or the player wins the game by hitting the nine ball in. After a miss or a foul the next player will continue the game from the position that the player left him unless there has been a foul in which the incoming player will have ball in hand and can place the cue ball anywhere on the table. In nine ball the player that is shooting is not required to call their shot.
Now I am going to tell you how to rack the balls and what a legal break shot is. The nine object balls are racked in a diamond with the one ball in front and the nine ball in the center, and the other balls are at random order, rack them as tightly as possible. On a legal break shot the shooter must hit the one ball and ether pocket a ball or drive four balls to the rail.
