The Surf Lesson

My friends and I like to go surfing as much as we possibly can especially in the summer. We usually go to our local breaks at Bob Hall Pier or in front of the condos at the seawall in Padre Island and to the jetties at Mustang Island Park. Every now and then we’ll take a trip to South Padre or Port Aransas and to Mexico of course. I usually go with my friends Canton, Chris, and Robby. We just go out there and try to catch as many waves as possible and to have a good time because we all love surfing. Every now and then we’ll have our share of cuts and bruises while we’re out there cruising up and down the face of each wave. Most likely if we do get cut or bruised its from wiping out in the wave and our board running into us or the fins from the board slicing our feet or hands. This doesn’t occur very often but you should always be on the look out. I mean I have a few scars as a little friendly reminder that it can happen. My friends and I have learned from old surf trips and experience what to do whenever we fall off our boards if we wipe out. We didn’t always know and we had to learn the hard way on specific surf trips.
It was a Friday night when my friends Canton, Chris, Robby, and myself were at a party having a good time kicking back a few cold ones chilling with our friends trying to figure out which girl we were going to hook up with. We were sophomores in high school so we had just gotten our licenses and we had started surfing at the end of our freshmen year. So when we got our licenses we started going more often. Well anyway while we were at the party having a good time I decided we were going to go surfing in the morning and the other guys agreed with me that was a good idea. Plus I had just gotten my 1991 midnight metallic blue Jeep Cherokee 4x4 with some surf racks to go with it so I wanted to try them out and tie all our surfboards on the racks.
