The Fan

As sports have evolved over the century, so have the fans. As sports have become more sophisticated and high tech, the sports fans have become less enthusiastic and supportive. Through this decline in team spirit different, types of fans have evolved. Three main types of sports fans have come to the forefront: the true fan, the fair weather fan and the championship fan. All three of these types may love their particular sport, but two out of the three are not dedicated to their teams.
The first and best type of fan is the true fan. True fans are those that have a true love for the game. These fans are those that have followed one team throughout their lives. They keep up with every game played, every player on the team and even the coaches. These fans have been found following their favorite teams to games all over the country. Good examples of true fans can be found at a Buffalo Bills football game in the middle of January. There someone could find those true fans cheering as loud as they can, with their shirts off and their chests painted. Other people may look at those fans and think they are crazy. Nothing will keep a true sports fan from enjoying a game.
True fans know no limit to supporting their team. There is no distance too far to travel for a game. There is no ticket price so high that they cannot afford to see their team. Also, there is no weather condition that will keep them from a game. Basically, there is nothing that will keep those true fans away from a good game. There have been instances in the past where fans have traveled around the country just to follow their favorite teams to their games. This type of dedication is only found in the true fan and any other type of fan cannot duplicate it.
A true fan’s love for sports is very rarely limited to just one sport. In most cases, if the fan is a true fan, they will like all types of sports and always appreciate a good game. M...
