Sports are all around from exercising to little league to million dollar paid professional athletes. However, from its simplest to most complex form sports are a type of business. Even the neighborhood baseball game takes some type of organization, or some may call management. The management process is synergy, which means one part depends on one another to fulfill their responsibilities. The same is in the business of sports and management.
A big part of the sports management game is marketing. Marketing may include spending hundreds of hours trying to get his client as much publicity as possible such as radio, television or the newspaper. But other parts of marketing are the marketing mix, which are product, price, promotion and place. The whole strategic marketing plan includes research, implementing, planning and controlling the factors.
Human resources also help an organization of a team, production or even a player stay on tract and reach the organizations targets. Human resources are to hire employees to satisfy the needs and wants of an organization. Another aspect of human resources is to keep the employees satisfied so they will continue to produce and satisfy the needs of and organization.
Like other businesses, sports management has accountants who manage all financial transactions that occur within the company. This part of management can be crucial to an organization being that if the books are off this may force decision maker to make the wrong choice or a potential stock holder change there mind. Over all the purpose of accounting to inform and communicate the financial reports for the whole organization and provide decision maker the need info to make a knowledgeable decision.
