HOW TO CHANGE OIL IN YOUR CAR

1) Buy a case of (12 quarts) of motor oil and filters from your nearby automotive store. Make sure it’s API (American Petroleum Institute) certified. All oil will say on the label.

2) Put on an old pair of jeans and T-shirt and crawl under the front of your car. You will see a large tank with a bolt sticking out from the bottom or side of it. That’s your oil tank.

3) Put a pan wide enough to hold 4 to 5 quarts of oil underneath the tank.

4) Take off the bolt. Make sure you don’t round the edges on the bolt. You’ll have to use a vise grip if you should happen to do so.

5) Drain all the oil from the tank. I will drain out very easy in to the pan.

6) Screw the bolt back on and make sure it’s good and tight.

7) Find the oil filter. It’s usually somewhere on the side of the engine. You’ll need a filter wrench to remove the filter. Remove the filter. There will be oil in the filter so try to pour it inside the pan.

8) Screw on the new filter. Try not to put it on too tight.

9) Pour the new oil into the engine. (The cap will be marked “oil”.) It usually takes 4 to 5 quarts of oil. Check the owner’s manual to be sure.

10) After you’ve add the new oil, check the dipstick to make sure the right amount has been added. Check for leaks under the car.

11) Start your car and check for leaks again.

12) Take the used oil to a gas station or auto parts store to throw away.

13) Remember the miles on your car. Changing your oil should be done every 3 months for every 3,000 miles whichever comes first....
