s truly understand the selfless act of donating, the family needs to relate to each other their stand, so when death occurs the deceased wishes are carried out. Everyone needs to realize it could be his family member or friend who needs the transplant, and it could be his family member or friend that would die if the organs were not available. The family members will be asked about donation, and it would make the choice easier for them if they know each family members stand. They can refuse even if the deceased wishes were to donate.
Almost anyone can be an organ donor. There are some age limits on organ donors, but tissue and bone donation are not as limited. The deciding factor on whether a person is able to donate is the physical condition of the donor. The presence of cancer or diabetes will limit the use of a donor. Anyone can have his name placed on the donor registry by signing the back of his driver’s license. All organs are matched with the patient that has the best biological match and greatest medical need.
