The stomach flu is a viral infection that affects the stomach and small intestine. It is also called viral gastroenteritis. The illness is usually brief, lasting one to three days. The stomach flu is caused by swallowing certain viruses. The body fluids of infected people contain the virus. Sometimes this can even be before the symptoms. The virus can be really easily given to you. Even as easily as easily as shaking someone’s hand who has these symptoms.
The virus affects the stomach and the intestines. It enters the stomach and intestine and inflames the lining of these organs. As a result, the stomach and intestine are temporarily incapable of performing their usual functions. Some bacteria and other tiny organisms called protozoa can cause infections that have symptoms similar to those of stomach flu. When, you have stomach flu, you may have a possibility of many symptoms. These symptoms include fatigue, chills, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea, low-grade fever, and muscle aches. The illness may develop over a period of hours, or it may suddenly start with stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea.
You can treat stomach flu by many ways. You should rest your stomach and intestines. The last thing you want to do is eat a big cheeseburger when you have this. First, it probably will not stay in your stomach for more than an hour neither will it taste good. You should start off slow. Start by maybe eating a saltine cracker and drinking some carbonated beverages. Then you should eat “soft” foods such as jello or fried toast. Do not drink too much liquid in between vomiting. Even an ounce or two too much and you can cause more vomiting.
