SCIENCE vs. CHRISTIANITY:
THE CREATION OF THE WORLD AND ITS INHABITANTS

Which best explains every secret this world has to offer, scientific facts and theories or pure religious beliefs? These sects have been battling the thought of which is correct, but without facts, neither belief has the exact answer. Why must two completely different ideas be used to explain the same basic principles of nature? I believe that the different ideas were derived to satisfy those wanting to be shown what there is to believe, before they started to accept it as the truth. The main conflicts between science and religion about the creation of the world and its inhabitants have been caused by the numerous beliefs that are different from one another and the discrepancies in how our world is constantly changing.

The Big Bang Theory is the dominant scientific theory about the creation of our world and universe. According to the big bang, the universe was created sometime between 10 billion and 20 billion years ago from a cosmic explosion that threw particles in every direction. “In 1927, the Belgian priest Georges Lemaître was the first to propose that the universe began with the explosion of a primeval atom. His proposal came after observing the red shift in distant nebulas by astronomers to a model of the universe based on relativity” (Big Bang ). Years later, Edwin Hubble preformed an experiment to help justify Lemaître's theory. “He found that distant galaxies in every direction are going away from us with speeds proportional to their distance” ( Big Bang ). The big bang was initially suggested because it explains why distant galaxies are traveling away from us at great speeds. It also predicts that glow remaining from the explosion itself was cosmic background radiation.
