One of the ways people try to get around critical habitats is by simply filing for a HCP( Habitat Conservation Plan). Over six point five million acres now are covered by HCPs. The one main problem about these is that they work against endangered species because of the lack of scientific information not being applied. Instead of conserving a animal’s habitat they end up destroying it. These timber industries, agribusinesses, and real estate businesses are really the only ones benefiting. If for once people did not worry about money and just think about how they can help prevent extinction then they might see some progress (Evans).
