The concept of apoptosis, or programmed cell death, causes cellular death. Also, is it believed to be accountable for preventing webbed fingers in humans and may underlie the metamorphosis of amphibians and insects.
However, there is a dark side to apoptosis. Apoptosis kills diseased cells that could be cancerous, which in return, shatter its contents about, being taken in by other healthy cells. Afterwards, causing cancer and also becoming a possible factor in AIDS and other autoimmune diseases.
Another danger to the human body is the c-myc oncogene, which is believed to be involved in causing cancer too. A c-myc oncogene plays a role of a leader. If this specific gene becomes infected, then other genes within the body trace the contaminated gene and soon obtain its plague.
