Many people have never herd of the Taiga or new it was a biome. The Taiga is the largest biome. A biome is a large region of the earth that has different kinds of animals and plants. The climate is very cold and there are only a few seasons. There are different kinds of species that live in the Taiga and different kind of vegetation. The Taiga is located close to the north pole. There are many things to be learned about the Taiga.
Climate in the Taiga
The taiga is located in northern Canada and Alaska. The temperature in the Taiga is very cold because it is close to the north pole. The average temperature is below freezing for six months. Summers are rainy, warm and humid. Total yearly precipitation is 12-33 inches. Most of the precipitation comes in the summer months.(Zack) The taiga is very cold in the winter. But when the warm summer comes, the ice and snow melts. The sun shines for days in the summer, because the taiga is near the top of the world.(Samuel)
