Marijuana Right And Wrong

For the past forty years the United States has waged an enormous offensive on “The War on Drugs”. The United States has ceased billions of tons of cocaine, heroin, opium, and marijuana. On average once a week there is news of “Huge Heroin Bust in Detroit” or “Five Thousand Pounds of Marijuana Ceased at JFK Airport”, this sounds reassuring to the uninformed daily news viewer, but to the informed and skeptic viewer this is all a ploy to justify the enormous amount of tax payer dollars spent on the so called War on Drugs. A similar situation occurred in the early 1920’s through the 1930’s during the years of prohibition. During the decade or so the prohibition lasted there was a huge increase in violent crime, organized crime, prostitution, drug use, and the very thing prohibition was trying to prevent alcohol consumption. The United States has a huge drug problem and there is little being done about it. The United States would not only prosper financially as a county but the social prosperity that would ensue post legalization would result in an overall improvement of United States society.
Since “The War on Drugs” began in the mid 1980’s there have been quite a few major drug battles won by United States forces in cooperation with other governments though out the world both trying to rid the world of the so called poisons that plague the globe. Like Elliot Ness’s Untouchables of the 1930s these crusaders travel all over central and South America looking for the evil drug lords who produce the substance that will destroy society, as it is known. In actuality there is very little that is done about the whole drug problem in the world today except for the fact that there are hundreds of billions of dollars spent each year fighting a war that cannot be won.
