Chaos Theory

This emerging science, ‘chaos theory’, is not just a theory, but a whole way of perceiving reality. Chaos deals with predictability in complex systems, such as earth’s turbulent weather patterns. It has made remarkable headway towards solving some of nature’s most baffling puzzles. Scientists and economists have been making predictions about society and market trends and biologists are putting it to use in mapping the flow of our population. James Gleick wrote in his best-selling book, “Chaos has become the shorthand name for a fast growing movement that is reshaping the fabric of the scientific establishment.”
The importance of Chaos theory is derived from it’s new perspective on the world as dynamic and nonlinear, not direct. Chaos is involved in the investigation of how systems interact. Scientists plot the effects of interaction on a system. Anything in nature can amplify or stabilize , for instance a butterfly flapping it’s wings in the air over one part of the world can eventually effect the weather over that area, leading to the butterfly theory....
