The reason I choose “The Road Not Taken” by the great Robert Frost is simply because I like this it. Not only is it written by Frost who is my favorite poet but is about being a nonconformist, which I think I am.
In lines 18-20 “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Frost is trying to get the point across that it is ok not to do what everyone else does just the be yourself. The speaker of this poem is the author Robert Frost. The occasion of this poem is a choice, it could be anything whether is be something small like buying a pair of sneaker, something significantly big like a career choice. Audience is anyone really who wants to do there own thing. Purpose would be that you could be yourself and not have to worry about it. Also, I think he is saying that just cause other people are doing it that you do not have to. Subject and the purpose is pretty much the same thing. The tone of this poem is happy and satisfied.
In conclusion, the poem “The Road Not Taken” is an inspiration to everyone. It’s telling people to be themselves do what you like and don’t worry about what other people think of you. It might not always be easier but you will feel better afterwards. The path you choose it up to you....
