he individual with sound wholeness of experience, when experience is retained as useful or applicable wisdom is considered to be acquired (Ardelt, 2000) It is quite reasonable to say age, or the passing of time, and experience can usually be considered a beneficial factor in the acquisition process of wisdom.
This being said lets take old age into account for the purpose of this paper, but old age is not necessarily needed to achieve a modest relational perspective. However the aging process has a tendency to improve upon ones wisdom. The mental processes involved with wisdom are considered the “Theory of Mind” and this is the ability to attribute independent mental states to self and others to predict and explain behavior (Teachings of Buddha) Both delusion and enlightenment originate in the mind, these perceptual place holders ultimately foreshadow the future depending on past experiences. For example, an impure mind surrounds itself with impurities that dilute the mind from making wise decisions ( Buddha) This process also occurs with purity of mind. As the mind surrounds itself with pure things; hence, having no more limits other than the pure activities of the mind. Purity or impurity that is extracted from prior experience and is influential to developing wisdom regar!
