xual parenting is that the child needs a mother and father
role model. Although single families sometimes do not provide that, the fact
that the parent is a heterosexual makes the society accept that they will
provide the child with everything it needs. A homosexual would be questioned
whether or not the child would get the role modeling he or she needs. Role
modeling is an important aspect to raise a child. In a homosexual relationship,
two could “play roles” of the mother or father. There are relatives, teachers,
and friends whom could be major parts of the child’s life.

The traditional family is composed of a mother, father, and the children. This
excludes the idea of a
homosexual family. Many people in society see the traditional family as the
“normal” thing. This is because most people were brought up in an environment
with a mother, father, or stepparents. They have not been adapted to anything
but what they grew up in. The children in homosexual families see their family
as “normal.” This is because this life style is the only one they know about.
Recently, New Jersey has become the first state to allow lesbian and gay
couples adopt children jointly (Cloud “A Different..”). They are allowed to
adopt, just as married heterosexual couples can. Previously they could only
adopt as individuals. Although New Jersey allows children to be adopted jointly
by couples, marriage is not allowed for homosexual couples in this state nor any
other state. Marriage is not allowed anywhere in the world between two men or
two women. Last year, Congress passed a bill, which allowed a state to choose
to identify gay marriages, or not. This bill is the Defense of Marriage Act.
Twenty-five states banned them right away. (Cloud “A Different..”) Some states,
such as Florida and New Hampshire...
