History Perception--Health Management Pattern

Patient says that he never gets sick and is in what he says is “perfect” health.
B. T. says he has had maybe one cold in the past year and no absences from work due to
illness. He says the most important things he does to keep healthy is work out
religiously, follows a strict diet of fruits, vegetables, meats, and water. He eats no junk
food. He thinks all of these things combined are vital elements to good health. Does not
use cigarettes or drugs, but does socially drink on occasion. The subject has had three
accidents-- two motor vehicles accidents where he received concussions and one football
accident where he received a concussion. Has never really followed doctors orders
because the treatments were too difficult to follow. Example, he only takes medicines
until he feels better. No present illness at this time; he is just giving a health assessment
for this project.

Nutritional--Metabolic Pattern

B. T. states his daily food intake is as follows: breakfast-- protein shake, three egg
whites, and bagel with peanut butter, lunch--protein shake, two tuna fish sandwiches,
salad with no dressing, and cottage cheese with peaches, dinner--turkey burger, salad
with no dressing, and steamed vegetables. Typical fluid intake for a day is as follows:
9-10 glasses of water, 3-4 glasses of milk, and 3-4 glasses of juice. Subject takes creatine
and androsteindole as supplements and protein bars as snacks. Patient states no weight
or height loss or gain. B. T. says he has a “healthy” appetite and has no discomfort eating
or swallowing. The only diet restrictions that he has are self imposed due to his strict
diet regimen. Subject heals well and skin is pink, warm, and dry with no noticeable skin
ailments. Subject has no complaints of itching or dryness and no history or acne or rash.
