Bulimia And Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia are always being confused by many people. The reason why is that they are very much alike, almost the same thing! They both have many similarities as but also differ in many ways.
Anorexia Nervosa is when a person is completely afraid of gaining weight. They begin to starve themselves and usually eat only lettuce and drink water because it has no fat. No matter how much weight they lose they see themselves big. A person can tell them that they are really thin and it only makes it worse on them. Causes for anorexia usually starts during teen years, when the teen believes he/she must lose weight to be beautiful, to be thin, or because he/she dislikes their appearance. Most teens who are known to have been complimented of being the perfect person, believes that they should have the perfect body and weight. People with anorexia often hide their food and tell their parents that they ate it but really they threw it away. They start to lose their hair and get yellowish skin. They develope depression, too. They tend to lose their menstrual cycle. Anorexics will usually do whatever they will to be the 'perfect person' to please other people.
Bulimia Nervosa is different than Anorexia. People with bulimia tend to binge and purge, often to the extreme. They usually eat a lot of food as fast as they could. Then either use a laxative or take vomit inducer to rid the food they just ate for fear of losing weight. They also stick their finger in their throat until the food comes out. Bulimics usually hide their food, like anorexics, and take laxatives, diet pills, and/or diuretics. They eat junk food with high calories, like chips and cookies. Because they make themselves throw up they have abrasions and swollen salivary glands. They also get red eyes because of that, like bloodshot eyes.
