In an average person’s life, about 50,000 people will or almost die because of food diseases. There is an estimation of 90% -95% of individuals who suffer from Anorexia Nervosa, are women. Anorexia Nervosa affects about 1 in 2400 teenagers. There are about 3% of women who have suffered from bulimia at sometime throughout their life. It is an estimate that approximately 5% -10% of eating disorder sufferers are men. Bulimia Nervosa occurs in 0.5% to 2.0% of teenagers and young adult women. Eating disorders have been seen started in children as young as five years old and in adults as old as they can live. An average age of an eating disorder is from the age anywhere from 12-18 years of age. Eating disorders can happen to anyone, it doesn’t matter what gender, race, or age you are. They can affect anyone.
