Electoral College
Electoral College The Electoral College Should Be Abolished In America, the candidate who wins the Electoral College wins the presidency. The Popular vote doesn’t even count. The Electoral College should be abolished and the popular vote should decide who our next president should be. Unfortunately for us because of the Electoral College we still don’t have a future president after Bill Clinton term ends. The people’s votes do not count in the Electoral College. The popular vote represents true democracy, because the people’s votes count in choosing the president. The body that elects the presidents and vice-presidents of the United States is known as the Electoral College. Article 2, Section I, of the Constitution provides that, “Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole number of senators and representatives to which the state may be entitled in the congress: but no senator or representative, or person holding an office of trust or profit under the United States, shall be appointed an elector.” ( 1.)
