Julie and Norman starts a serious relationship with another guy. Kevin sparks up racial issues

with the rest of the cast members. The first season has its normal problems when you put seven

strangers in a loft together for six months. Here you have the diverse ethnic backgrounds of each

of the seven cast members.

The current season of MTV’s ‘The Real World’ is taped in the city of Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania. You again have seven cast members of different ethnic backgrounds. The cast

members are Sarah, MJ, Melania, Willie, Landon, Shavonda and Karamo. Again you see they

have cast two gay men, Karamo and Willie, for this season. You also have two men MJ and

Landon that don’t know a great deal about gay and lesbian relationships, which gives the first

few shows problems. This time around the hook-ups and racial problems are drawn out and

more advanced then the first episode.

The Real World has been able to touch on a variety of topics since the first episode such

as abortion, AIDS, sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, alcoholism and eating disorders
