“Stealing Harvard”


The movie I saw is called “Stealing Harvard”. It is a movie that should have gone straight to video and DVD, if that at all. I feel that I have wasted my money in going to the theatre to watch this movie. In this critique I will be discussing the importance of quality in a theatre, the storyline and my thoughts on this movie. There are a few key factors with the theatre that play a big part in how much a person enjoys a movie or play. These factors are: comfortability, the audience, and the sound system.
First of all, the theatre I went to in Lompoc was a dumpy place. I haven’t been there in years and still, it seems as if nothing has changed, it hasn’t even been renovated. Although, the floors were sticky as usual, I can never get over the fact of how uncomfortable their seats are. Their arm rests are so small, if there had been more people in the theatre at the time I probably would have spent a good portion of the movie bumping elbows, fighting for the armrest.

The audience plays a big role in how much you enjoy the movie. If the audience is quiet and doesn’t laugh in a comedy, it’s going to be boring, or awkward because you might be the only one who laughs. The worst is when people bring their crying babies to the movies and they don’t have the decency to leave the room. How about when people bring in their cell-phones or pagers and they go off. That aggravates me every time. Is it really that hard to put your phone on vibrate or just simply turn it off? This goes for pagers too. You would think people would have more respect for others, and think of the possibilities of what could happen. These are experiences I know everyone has had, luckily I went on a Monday night so there was hardly anyone there.
