Me… a Southwest Texas State University graduate; this would be a dream come

true. Getting a college education is my primary goal, and I know that to achieve this I

must set certain guidelines. Marketing and the field of communication are two areas of

study that interest me. With lots of hard work, study, and self-discipline, I know I can

reach my goals.

The college environment will provide many new experiences for me, yet I am

determined to get a 3.0 my freshman year. My goal may be high, but can be attained

with hard work. To achieve and maintain this grade point average, a consistent pattern of

study must be followed. I know that attending classes and participating in various

tutorials will also be a great benefit. Interaction with others who have the same goals and

high standards will also ensure a positive educational experience. My grades were good

in high school, but I am ready for the challenge and work to maintain good grades in

college.

The two areas of study I am interested in are communications and marketing. I

love to work and talk with people. I have been told that my strongest trait is my outgoing

personality. I work part time at a chiropractic clinic assisting a doctor. The patients have

told the doctor they appreciate the personal attention and interaction that I give them.

From my experience in the medical field, I find that I may want to pursue a career in

sales, possibly pharmaceutical. As far as communication, I enjoy talking to people. I

look forward to classes that will train me how to further enhance this ability.

As a college graduate, I would earn my parents utmost respect. No one on my

father’s side of the family has graduated from college. I wish to be the first. On my

mother’s side of the family, everyone has one or two degrees; I want to continue those
