You can’t approach the nation, because they may not have control over there inhabitants especially if the people are living in fear from these all too powerful men. We are dealing with madmen who want financial reward, and or they are just religious activists participating in random acts of religion. This new era of communication and war will demand a new era of security, a more censored lifestyle.

It is April 10th and the headline of the Contra Costa times read, “Baghdad Falls!”(1) As I read the big bold letters, I sighed in relief. The war would surely be over soon…
But as I read on in a sub column, the title read, “War is far from over, US says.” Mohammed Douri, the Iraqi Ambassador to America said that, “They’re seeing a collapse in the central regime authority.” (1) This means that Saddam Hussein’s main groups of supporters will and eventually diminish to nothing. This is a good thing, right?
According to history, even if you take out the head of the operation, its the supporters that can splinter up and disappear and continue to devastate and destroy whatever they please. This is the case in any large illegal operation, unless that is if you get lucky and catch them all together at once. Communication keeps this from happening though because everyone is connected and everyone knows where everyone is at. Technology is at the hands of everyone now. Now people have the power of mass communication at their finger tips, literally. A new defense system took immediate priority; this project would not be simple. With this in mind, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld had to take immediate defensive action. This action was called Operation Liberty Shield.
