What Is Love?

Webster’s Dictionary defines love as: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties; affection and tenderness felt by lovers. But how would we, who experience love, define it as? Personally, I would divide love into three different categories; love in amorous relationships, love with in a family and love with in a friendly relationship. Love in amorous relationships is a love that two people share in a romantic relationship; while love with in a family is more about the caring aspect. Finally, love in a friendly relationship consists of caring and bonding.
Love in amorous relationships would be the most complicated type of love that there could be. The definition for this type of love can vary from person to person. Nevertheless, I would want to believe that most people would want their love to include things like; affection, honesty, common interests, different interests, romance, physical or/and mental attraction and the ability to compromise. I am aware that this is a very general description of love, but like I said before it varies from person to person, therefore you can add or subtract any trait to make it more relevant to you. Some people may be more concerned with the way love happens. For instance, my boyfriend and I are a decent example of love. We met through a mutual friend and we have been stuck to the hip ever since. Our relationship works well because we share so many interests, but we are able to live our lives separately and we compromise on things with out going through annoying arguments. We are pretty lucky and that’s rare, don’t you think?
Love with in a family is not as complicated, but it’s not always apparent either. I think that all families love each other, whether they would like to admit it or not. There have been families who are known to argue and fight each to near death, but in the end, they fight because they love each other. For example, my mother and I had a huge fight...
