The respiratory system in insects can be highly affected by the animals surrounding environment. Many times the cricket must adapt to this environment in order to survive. This can effect respiration greatly. A crickets call song can be influenced by an increased respiration rate, as can fighting other crickets and predators. When fending off predators, it is imperative that the animal has an outstanding endurance.
