Oedipus
Oedipus Oedipus was born into a cursed life in which he had no control. The separation from his parents after the prophecy would not change his fate. He was born and raised by people whom he thought to be his parents. He behaved in a manner that any normal person would under his circumstances. Unaware of the situation he was in, Oedipus could not be blamed for his actions. In the beginning of the story, Oedipus is given his fate by a blind prophet. He is deemed to kill his father and marry his mother. When the news is broken to his parents, they decide to have Oedipus sent out on his own to die. Oedipus has no memory of his parents and no way to recognize them. Living in his new home, he presumes that the people he has known as his parents for the past twenty years are, indeed, his parents. The opposition at hand is that Oedipus should have investigated the matter thoroughly after he was aware of the rumors surrounding him. Who, after twenty years, would look into such an absurd allegation?
