The way suppliers and customers communicate today is very different from fifteen years ago.  It used to be that orders were either called or sent in on paper.  This left a lot of room for human mistakes.  As time went on and technology improved certain companies developed a system for ordering over the computer.  This is called an electronic ordering system.  The buyer can type in all of the merchandise to be purchased and within that day it arrives to the vendor without going through any other people.  The key to the system is all products have barcodes and can be verified by scanners.  This new way of doing business has improved the relationships between every different channel of the industry.  Buyers can order, track, and even have an automatic purchasing of the basic merchandise they need all the time by using their own computer.  Manufacturers and vendors have plenty of time to organize all of the merchandise that is to be sent out to the customer or buyer within the contracted time range.
