Cheerleading
Cheerleading Cheerleaders and cheerleading has always gone hand in hand with American sports. Every professional and college sports team with trained athletes has cheerleaders. Are those women and men that cheer on these trained athletes actually athletes themselves? Cheerleaders are athletes because they exhibit physical strength, speed, and skill. An athlete is defined as a person trained in exercises of physical strength, speed, and skill, especially one who participates or competes in games or activities requiring agility and stamina. To be an athlete one must exhibit physical strength. Sports like football and weightlifting require an athlete to use physical strength to reach a desired goal whether it be to knock down a defender or lift a large amount of weight. An athlete must also possess physical speed. Speed is essential in sports like track and field when the object is to reach a certain point in the least amount of time. Physical skill is an important characteristic to be classified as an athlete. Golfers practice for years on their skills of driving and putting to be great athletes. To be an athlete, one must also compete in games or contest physical, athlete, speed, must, athletes, strength, one, exhibit, cheerleaders, skill, contest, trained, sports, require, games, agility, stamina, fast, dance, compete, cheerleading, activities, weight, very, routines, requiring, reach, possess, person, paced, lift, hand, gymnastic, field, criteria, considered, college, certain, because, amount, years, women, whether, weightlifting, various, tumbling, training, track, time, themselves
