The Combustion Of Alcohlos The Combustion Of Alcohlos How much heat is given out by alcohols? Plan In this experiment I will test different alcohols to find which gives off the most heat during combustion. The alcohols I am going to test are methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, and pentanol. The heat comes from the bonds being broken (endothermic) and made (exothermic). Each bond needs a different amount of energy to break, and release when made.
