Parable Of The Prodigal Son
Parable Of The Prodigal Son Parable of the Prodigal Son As Christians and Catholics, we are called to both love and serve our God. Have we ever put one of these ahead of the other? Which is more important? To love or to serve? Some would argue that they are one in the same. In the parable of The Prodigal Son ( Luke 15:11-32) Jesus speaks of the importance to love God the Father. In our society, today, I would argue that what we really need is love. The gospel of Luke “emphasizes the salvific aspect of the Good News more than anyof the other gospels, first of all in the way he shapes the image of Jesus.” Luke shows that Jesus is the savior who encourages his prophets to deliver the message of God. God wants everyone to know that justice will be served through salvation. Jesus uses parables to emphasize this message. Luke alone tells the parable of the prodigal Son in which the love of our God is emphasized. The Parable of the Prodigal Son “is probably the best known and loved of all our Lord uttered.” (1) It tells the story of a man who chooses to give his sons their inheritance son, father, prodigal, love, god, parable, luke, jesus, home, return, time, tells, serve, one, money, message, lost, life, brother, began, argue, younger, wrong, worked, wealth, way, waste, waiting, uttered, until, unjust, trades, today, through
