Corruption of Christianity THE CORRUPTION OF CHRISTIANITY During the Feudal times, Christianity was faced with countless problems. The beliefs of Christianity were being corrupted left and right. In my essay I am going to describe in detail what led to the downfall of Christianity. The factors I am going to describe are the wrong doings by the Roman-Catholic Church, the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition. These bishops were appointed by the Kings, and they took orders from them. Positions in the church were sold to the highest bidder. Anyone with money could buy a position and would then have an enormous amount of power. This certainly corrupted the Church. Furthermore, the “Holy War,” (The Crusades) ordered by Pope Urban II, corrupted almost church, christianity, during, out, inquisition, crusades, corrupted, time, problems, led, kings, killed, crusaders, corruption, city, bishops, beliefs, anyone, against, wrong, worse, war, wanted, urban, took, stole, stake, spanish, spain, roman-catholic, reform, priest, pope, place, muslim, men, man, john, ii, highest, going, faced, even, doings, describe, burned, being, am, almost, yet, wycliffe
