Amish Religion Amish Religion AMISH RELIGION As I did my research on the religious beliefs of Amish it was interesting to get these facts. The church sets the rules for the community, so their whole lives revolve around this religion. They believe that a woman’s place is in the home with no career, the only exception would be if a female were single or newly married. In this case she is able to work as a housemaid, a mother’s helper, or in an approved store. Once a women has a child she must quit her job. The role men play in this community is they are seen as the bosses, however above the men are the rule makers which are the Bishops and Deacons. Founded in the late 17th century by Jacob Amman began as a split-of sect of the Swiss Mennonites. Amman based his beliefs on the practices and writings the 1632 Mennonite faith. Because of the strong beliefs they reject most of the developments of modern society. Some of their beliefs include conservation of he Christian faith.
