Sex And Violence In Popular Culture
Sex And Violence In Popular Culture Sex and violence in popular culture has become a common theme during the past decade. The television, radio and Internet have been infested with thousands of violent and sex related programs that it is impossible for anyone not to see them. Violence and sex are to subjects that must be handle with caution so that the young people, especially children, are not affected mentally and emotionally by them. Television and the Internet can be described as the most informative and influential forms of media that society has today. These are communication systems that help the world transfer information from one point in the planet to another. The majority of the viewers are children, because they have more free time than adults. Studies have shown that the average American child is exposed to 25 hours of television each week and some children are exposed to as much as 11 hours of television a day. Of course there is nothing wrong with that but the problem is that most of the programs televised are for adults. These programs display people having sex and have a high level of violence on them. This influences children’s perception of the values and behavior that are common violence, sex, society, children, television, exposed, programs, must, child, behavior, young, violent, related, people, ones, making, human, age, adults, wrong, world, today’s, today, thing, therefore, studies, stone, social, side, shown, rules, problem, play, life, later
