Organizational Behavior
Organizational Behavior An Analysis of the United States Marine Corps In this analysis I will be analyzing the USMC (United States Marine Corps). I will be looking at the structure and leadership strengths and weaknesses of the Marine Corps today. I will provide ideas on how the Marine Corps can strengthen its weaknesses and correct its deficiencies that will be identified in this paper. Organizational structure is the arrangement of organizational parts. The Marine Corps is a bureaucracy with a high level of organizational complexity. A division of labor between upper and lower ranks is present. Marines are given job titles and according to rank all Marines know exactly where in the hierarchy they fall. Individual areas or shops may have small differences in the degree of complexity but for the most part are very much alike. The Department of the Navy consists of four key parts: the Operating Forces of the Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, the Shore Establishment, and the Navy Department (Estes, 30). The U.S. Marine Corps within the Department of Navy, includes Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps; Operating Forces of the U.S. Marine Corps, Marine Corps Supporting Establishment; and Marine Corps Reserve. The chain of command of the U.S. Marine Corps is as follows starting at the top and working down. The president of marine, corps, marines, school, act, training, military, rank, mos, time, rules, must, job, values, security, navy, naval, degree, organization, national, leadership, high, go, first, each, duty, complexity, world, under, three, station, secretary, required, physical, organized, organizational
