Freud the Founder of Psychoanalysis
Freud the Founder of Psychoanalysis Abstract Psychology Theories Sigmund Freud is one of the most famous psychologists to ever hit the study of psychology. His name alone symbolizes the importance of his theories, and the name that comes to most people's heads when saying the word psychology is Sigmund Freud. In the following paper, the reader will grasp the idea of psychoanalysis with the history, as well as examples of Freud’s own psychoanalytic work. “Freud is important in the history of psychology, but he is more important in the history of ideas.” His ideas have influenced literature, philosophy, theology, ethics, art, political science, anthropology, sociology, and the most of all psychology. His theories and treatments were to change forever our conception of the human condition. SIGMUND FREUD (1856-1939) Sigmund Freud was born in Freiberg, Moravia, a part of the Austrian empire at that time, on May 6, 1856. Today it is a part of Czechoslovakia. He was raised in the traditions and beliefs of the Jewish religion. Freud considered a career in law but found legal affairs dull, and so, though he later admitted to “no particular predilection for the career of a physician” he chose a medical career. In 1873 he entered the University of Vienna but did freud, stage, women, sigmund, theory, freud’s, development, work, unconscious, psychoanalysis, own, ideas, way, child, sexual, one, life, freudian, first, female, dreams, because, about, theories, mind, id, girls, everyday, envy, ego, called, boys, believed, time, superego, sense, result, psychology, person, people, out, mental, during, complex, best, according, studies, society, sexuality, psychological, pleasure
