Rock’n’roll is nonsense. Many people think that it generates only violence and harm to the brain. However, this kind of music has been appreciated by teenagers as well as many adults since its beginning. We know that music causes many psychological results when we are listening to or playing it. Rock music is unexceptional from those effects. There are many studies concerned with the negative effects of rock’n’roll. For example, in the 1960s rock was connected to sex and drugs; the famous phrase of this period is “Sex, Drugs, and Rock ’n’ Roll.” Rock music was blamed as the cause of social problems in that time because the content of rock songs “turned toward rebellion, social protest, sex, and, increasingly, drugs” (Rock Music). Hence, it is not surprising at all if many people believe that rock music is the irrational type of music. However, Rock music, which in general is viewed as nonsensical, also fascinatingly relates to rationale.
We can observe that rock music has some positive effects. Many historical events reflect the influence of rock music to positive movements. Moreover, rock has already been used as a method to improve education for a long time. Therefore, rock music is not created by the sake of entertainment only. There must be a close relationship between rock and rationale. However, in order to prove that rock is rational, first, we have to understand how music affects the brain to get the general idea why music can cause many changes in human. Actually, music is much more complicated than we think. What we perceive is more than just a sound.
