Water Problem In Comstock And Northcomstock
Water Problem In Comstock And Northcomstock FORWARD In recent years the resident population in the villages of Comstock and North Comstock have fallen, but hotels, motels and guesthouses have brought the seasonal rise up to 300 percent. So now, it is making a water issue problem for both communities. There have been a couple of suggestions proposed to the governing body for both villages. One of them is to have wells drilled. Another proposition is to have two reservoirs connected and have water flow south by gravity. The final possible source of extra water supply is to enlarge Barden Pond, or develop Russell Pond. The following report will provide the best possible solution. Including an analysis of all costs, development, effectiveness, and desirability. SUMMARY A field survey provided three alternative solutions to the water shortage problem in North Comstock and now threatening Comstock. The first possible solution involves the enlargement of Barden Pond, which currently feeds a reservoir of 2,089, 000 gallons. The reservoir is 1 and ¼ mile north of North Comstock and has already reached its economical extent. The second solution discovered is to develop Russell Pond. Using Russell Pond would require chlorination according to USPHS standards, unless the comstock, water, north, solution, pond, cost, both, villages, barden, russell, dollars, south, reservoir, usphs, standards, wells, two, require, provided, ground, enlarge, effectiveness, development, data, towns, supply, should, shortage, provide, problem, possible, midway, gallons, enlargement, effective
