The Instrumentation in the song is played using big band. The instruments used are the piano, saxophone, drums, clarinet, trombones, and trumpets.
Harry Connick Jr has a Performing Style: that is a good example of a song interpreter. You can feel what he is feeling in his music. In some parts of the song he is actually talking instead of singing. The horn sections have a call and responce going on between them.
