Flaws of the Drinking Laws Flaws of the Drinking Laws Flaws of the Drinking Laws Alcohol is a drug, and it is one of the most commonly used ones throughout history. Thousands of years ago Egyptians were drinking wine at banquets and at dinner. The Greeks and Romans would use it to celebrate their gods and goddesses. Beer was always easy to find at your local tavern in England. It has been used for social gatherings for millennia. This is partially because it relaxes people and eases the tongue. Alcohol will lower inhibitions and can make you forget some of the minor details of a rough day. The problem is that it has been abused for centuries as well. In this new age drinking has become a very dangerous threat. This is not so much because of how it can make people act in violent or irrational manners; rather, it is because of how it impairs our ability to think clearly and quickly. Thinking clearly and quickly is of paramount importance when behind the wheel of a three-ton chunk of metal moving at speeds of sixty miles per hour.
