National Rifle Association
	The National Rifle Association was founded in 1871 by Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate to promote rifle uses in a scientific method.  The goal was to create shooting ranges and make use of guns more of a sport.  The NRA has come a long way and gun ranges can be found all over the country.  There are nearly 6,000 people participating in firearm competitions around the nation.  Another goal of the NRA was to promote safety and make sure only qualified people are capable of carrying or owning a firearm.  NRA members have been educating the public since the beginning of how to hunt with safety and spend the extra money to make sure guns are in the right hands.  The NRA created a Legislative Affairs Division in 1934 to fight for the second amendment remarks being made.  The Legislative Affairs Division helped fight for the right to bare arms when in need at ones home.
	The involvement of the NRA occurs with helping Britain in WWII, collecting more then 7,000 firearms to defend them from the German’s.  Britain at the time did not have the
