Diabete Type 1 and 2
Diabete Type 1 and 2 Diabetes is a very serious disease that attacks millions of people around the world. Diabetes is recognized as one of the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. (Medical Surgical Nursing) It can strike at any age and can happen to anyone. Although we are not exactly sure about the causes of diabetes, it is known to be a metabolism disorder. It is believed that it has to do with the body's own immune system attacking and destroying insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. A metabolism disorder affects the digestion of food in the body. (McHenry, Robert) After eating, most food is broken down by glucose, which is the main fuel for the body. Cells use glucose for energy after it moves into the bloodstream. (Channing L.) Insulin, which is a hormone produced by the pancreas, allows the glucose to pass into our cells. The pancreas’s job is to produce the right amount of insulin so the glucose can pass from the bloodstream into cells. (Channing L.) Without insulin the glucose that we need in order to live has a hard time entering the cells of the diabetes, type, insulin, glucose, levels, blood, people, exercise, sugar, life, diabetic, cells, surgical, nursing, normal, medical, body, wwwdiabetesorg, weight, robert, pancreas, nathan, help, good, diagnosed, called, aaseng, vision, treatment, sudden, several, person, need, must, mchenry, major, live, life-threatening, include, healthy, eating, diet, complications, channing, american, age, york, way, very, united
