Artist Expression: Making Infrared Pictures
Artist Expression: Making Infrared Pictures Taking infrared pictures is an fairly unfamiliar art form, even to numerous photographers. What is neat about it is that if you already have a camera, you only need a few more things. After that, the process is fairly simple as long as you are somewhat familiar with computers. The first thing you will need to do is obtain an infrared lens. These little beauties filter out light, detecting heat signatures instead of colors. They can be bought online through various camera equipment sites or at a local store such as the Kodak photo store in our local mall in Greenbrier. After you’ve done that, you’re ready to take your pictures. Find a specimen, preferably a live one, and get permission to take their picture. Being sure not to touch the infrared lens itself, line it up in front of your cameras lens. If your camera doesn’t have the ability to screw the lens on or attach it somehow itself, tape around the edge of the lens. This will not only make light unable to screw up your shot, but it will also provide stability for the lens. Make sure not to cover it with tape or touch it with camera, lens, infrared, image, take, picture, need, little, layers, colors, after, you’ll, touch, through, things, tape, sure, store, screw, red, program, pictures, open, one, now, neat, make, local, light, itself, green, fun, form, filter, fairly, digital
