What Would You Like In Life

What Would You Like In Life

I want and need an education so that I can have a career and be able to be self supporting

and not have to live from pay check to pay check. With out a degree , it is hard for an

African American to get a good job and have a nice home . I see people every day

in Philadelphia living in poor housing and not able to make ends meet. I do not want this

for myself or for the children I will have in the future. My mother and father have often

told me that everyone does not have a chance to go to college so I want to prove to them

that I appreciate the opportunity to get a degree.

With this education I will not fall into the statistics that the media likes to portrait as the

profile of a black young man, namely “ the drug dealer”. I would l like to be a role model

for younger children to give them a model that is not a sports figure. To be a college

graduate can be a goal a lot of young children can obtain.

My desire is to be in
