Globalization Globalization Globalization has only now clearly marked its presence and effects because the Internet has allowed any average person to log on and discover mountains of information from local news to international crises. In laymen’s terms, the world now recognizes globalization because it has been extremely “globalized”. The Internet has allowed this, yet it is globalizations offspring. “Globalization means the spread of free-market capitalism to virtually every country in the world, (Thomas L. Friedman).” It is to this end, that many countries (more specifically, private companies) struggle to survive in the broad spectrum of economic prosperity. Of course, it is because of these nation’s endeavors that many have been alarmed and have thus chosen to speak out against globalization (such as the protestors of the IMF and other international organizations that according to them violate certain rights in the name of economic prosperity).
