FTSE Local Exchange Indices 
The success of the FTSE 100 Index both as a measure of large cap stocks and as the basis of traded derivatives means that FTSE is often asked to create new indices for stock or derivative exchanges. All new exchange based indices are run using FTSE's acclaimed committee structure - ensuring that constituent selection and ground rule implementation is as transparent as any other FTSE index. As with all FTSE indices, the Exchange Indices are free float adjusted according to FTSE’s free float policy. Recent examples include: 
Cyprus Stock Exchange: FTSE and the Cyprus Stock Exchange have joined forces to create the FTSE/CySE 20 Index, a highly tradable index. A strict regulatory and legal framework, put in place from the beginning of the Exchange, ensures that Cyprus is a dependable and safe market in which to invest. 
HSI: FTSE and HSI have created the FTSE/Hang Seng Indexes, a series of tradable indexes based on the Asia Pacific equity market, allowing investors to trade either by market cap or sector. 
JSE Securities Exchange South Africa: FTSE and the JSE are to create indices for the African and international markets. The FTSE/JSE Africa Index Series provides a significantly
