Lord Of The Flies-Human Nature
Lord Of The Flies-Human Nature Human nature is unavoidable and often the source of evil. William Golding uses his novel Lord of the Flies to demonstrate this idea. Although it is a rather pessimistic thought, this novel expresses that evil exists deep down in all of us. The novel displays human’s own illness, human nature, through the characters in his story. Evil is an inborn characteristic that lives inside each and every one of us. The evil comes from our human sense of survival. And unfortunately, it is our nature to do whatever it takes in order to survive. If our survival is at risk, our evil rears its ugly head. Our parents’ job is to try to replace that evil with good morals and values when we are young, but the truth is, evil cannot be replaced. It can only be temporarily hidden, until the right situation comes around and sets it free. Dozens of kids stranded on an island was the perfect situation to prove that. There were no parents there to enforce those morals, so the kids were left with nothing but there own instincts to live by.
